Martha Stewart Snowflakes

I'm perhaps the least craft-handy person on the planet, so let me attest that Martha Stewart's paper snowflake instructions are really helpful. If, that is, for some reason you find yourself wanting to make some paper snowflakes. Also -- Dick Cheney still loves torture and George W. Bush's foreign policy is so terrible that even top State Department aides need to keep saying it's terrible.

This seems wrong. The State Department is always, always wrong. Therefore, if "even top State Department aides" are saying your foreign policy is terrible, then the appropriate conclusion is that it is likely that it's actually good. What would be worrying is if State Department people are saying "that's the right policy".

You can read my thoughts on Condoleezza Rice and Philip D. Zelikow at my blog. In short, my guess is Zelikow is "saying it's terrible" in order to perpetuate the "terrible" policy (whether Zelikow knows it or not).

Funny - I'd always heard that Martha's snowflakes were even more vexing than Don Rumsfeld's.
