Appeasement Quiz

Your 'Do You Want the Terrorists to Win' Score: 96%

You are a terrorist-loving, Bush-bashing, "blame America first"-crowd traitor. You are in league with evil-doers who hate our freedoms. By all counts you are a liberal, and as such cleary desire the terrorists to succeed and impose their harsh theocratic restrictions on us all. You are fit to be hung for treason! Luckily George Bush is tapping your internet connection and is now aware of your thought-crime. Have a nice day.... in Guantanamo!

Do You Want the Terrorists to Win?
Quiz Created on GoToQuiz

I'm more pro-terrorist than even Jim Henley, probably because as a liberal rather than a libertarian I have positive views about the United Nations.

4% - Congratulations, Patriot! Wave your flag proudly, stand tall, and bask in the glory of George Bush's America. The terrorists will never win so long as there is a sufficient number of people like you out there. Never question, never doubt. You are on the right side. America's side. God's side. Rush Limbaugh has told you so. Rah rah, go Bush!!

Which question did I get wrong?

Posted by: Al on December 3, 2006 11:45 AM

I came up with 94%. I guess I'm glad Liberals Against Terrorism changed its name.

Posted by: Brian Ulrich on December 3, 2006 11:47 AM

I got 100%, also.

Posted by: Thlayli on December 3, 2006 12:00 PM

Also 100%; I'm curious how Matt missed 100%, and I'm guessing he didn't take the bait on the Katrina question (i.e. that he sensibly asked what it had to do with terrorism, rather than answering directly).

I'm shocked a veteran troll like Al couldn't get 0%. Yes, many of the "support Dubya" answers were clearly asinine, but he's usually OK with that.

Posted by: Warren Terra on December 3, 2006 12:26 PM

Wait, I got 98% and took the bait on Katrina. What did I do wrong? Is there really a secret core deep within me that does hate terrorism?

Posted by: jfaberuiuc on December 3, 2006 12:33 PM

Best question:

13. Is it better to kill on behalf of Jesus or on behalf of Mohammad?
Jesus
Mohammad
Is this a trick question?

Maybe that's where I lost points too...

Posted by: Al on December 3, 2006 12:36 PM

Yes, Matt, I think you owe us all a public declaration of your answer to question thirteen.

Posted by: jhupp on December 3, 2006 12:47 PM

I got 100% and I didn't take the bait on the Katrina question.

I'm feeling very liberal right now.

Posted by: DRR on December 3, 2006 12:52 PM

94%. Also, regarding Katrina, it was widely pointed out that what happened to NOLA was pretty similar to a terrorist attack in terms of effect. So being completely incapable of responding to that disaster means we're pretty incapable of responding to a genuine terror attack on a major American city, which is very much related to terrorism.

On a different note, the question about the bastard son of two homosexuals reminded me of something that happened in college. It involved me needing to write a story (a genuinely believable story) about an illegitimate love child of two gay men. I could never figure out a way to actually make that happen, at least not that anyone would actually believe. Maybe the power of the blogosphere can crack the question?

Posted by: Gheby on December 3, 2006 12:55 PM

I got a 94%. I will try to do better the next unnecessary and criminal war. I promise.

I don't see the problem. It's a straightforward variant of cloning. Take DNA from one guy's sperm, transplant into an egg, fertilize with the other guy's sperm, and implant in a host mother.

Posted by: David Tomlin on December 3, 2006 01:14 PM

I got 100% also. Tell us, Matt, about the strand of hidden Republicanism that clearly is lurking within you....

Posted by: Rebecca Allen, PhD, ARNP on December 3, 2006 01:38 PM

I got 100%. I think maybe the 98%ers answered false to the "A liberal is someone who hates America and is rooting for the terrorists, true or false?" question, since my answer was "we've sunk pretty low if we are even having this debate."

Posted by: Dave Posoer on December 3, 2006 02:20 PM

87%?! Bullshit! I'm Shi'a!!!

Posted by: ogged on December 3, 2006 02:53 PM

I took the quiz as if I were hero of the DLC Harry Truman. I got the following result:

Your 'Do You Want the Terrorists to Win' Score: 83%

You are a terrorist-loving scoundrel who hates our dear leader and the values he defends. There are few redeeming qualities about you. You most likely celebrated when the evil-doers hit us on 9/11, then opposed the Iraq war when we tried to pay them back. You hurt us at every step and cause troops to die in the field by questioning Bush's decisions. You are most likely a lost cause, doomed to be a brainwashed victim of free thought and liberalism forever. No dose of Ann Coulter's prose can save you now.

I then took the quiz as if I were one of those DLC types ... I got the following result:

Your 'Do You Want the Terrorists to Win' Score: 43%

A rather wishy washy performance. At least you are less than half aligned with evil. However your patriotism and allegiance to President Bush are lacking. You certainly harbor a few treasonous thoughts, which will no doubt result in the deaths of at least a few of our troops. Please get yourself straightened out immediately. Read a book by Ann Coulter at once!

If I were a DLC type reading this, of course, I would go out to read an Ann Coulter book as it would disturb me that I was harboring a few treasonous thoughts.

Anyway, my real score is 72-87% depending on how I answer questions in which I would say more than one is (partially) true. I suspect if I didn't have a residual suspicion of organizations displaying double standards vis-a-vis Israel and a degree of TR/Wilsonian idealism (which the neo-cons claim to have even if their "idealism" is a facade for the "realism" they accuse us of following) I would have gotten a higher score.

Not quite sure how any regular reader of this blog could get below 90% (always making the honorable exception for Al). Actually, I wonder how anyone could get below 100%, which was my score.

Posted by: MQ on December 3, 2006 04:25 PM

I got a 91%. I suspect that if you ignored all the questions that your score wouldn't be either 100% or 0% but I'm not interested enough to check. I ignored several questions because there wasn't a sufficient range of answers.

Posted by: Jeffrey Davis on December 3, 2006 05:56 PM

96%. I think it's basically true that "9/11 changed everything". I mean, I don't think it had to or should've, but we live in a profoundly different world than the one that might have emerged absent those attacks.

No rise of the neocons, no invasion of Iraq, no other horribly awful neocon things happening, plus good chances of Democratic wins in '02 and '04, holding off other non-neocon awful things that Bush has done.

Hey! I got 96% and I think the UN is run by Euro self-aggrandizing power-hungry beaureaucrats and Third-World Dictators!

m, huh

Posted by: max on December 3, 2006 06:48 PM

The test was not that funny, and displayed rather promiscuously a thick-headedness about the post-9/11 world. "Better to kill for Jesus or Mohammed?" At the risk of being accused of membership in the religious right (which would make people who know me laugh for two hours), there is nothing the most right-wing of Christians that comes close to the savagery of Al Queda. Read "The Looming Tower." It won't make you love Bush. It will make you realize that Al Queda has put an end to business as usual.

The fewer people who see this quiz, the better off liberals will be. Sorry for the buzz-kill, but hey.

The fewer people who see this quiz, the better off liberals will be.

Thanks for your oh-so-authentic concern, Mr. S. We'll inform all the libertarians that are spreading this around of your warning.

Anyway, you can go hide back under your bed in the puddle of urine now. Because Al Qaeda has "put an end to business as usual." Eek!

Fuller report

Ladies and gentlemen, uh, we've just lost the picture, but what we've seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft has apparently been taken over, 'conquered' if you will, by a master race of giant space ants. It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive Earthmen or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain: there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

I'd have been pretty damn upset if I hadn't gotten 100%.

100%, I'm wondering how you can be sane and score less than 94%

Posted by: Eric on December 4, 2006 05:44 PM

Heck, I'm only 94, and I'm giving them all your names at first sight of a waterboard.
