Romney on Film

Caught live on tape, Mitt Romney hangs out back stage with Ann Coulter discussing his plan to name her his Vice Presidential nominee, Coulter's admiration for his deft abortion flip-flopts, and Romney's meeting with James Dobson in which he made some early efforts to smooth over the whole is Romey a Christian issue.

This comes to me via Dave Weigel who observes that "Romney apparatchiks Barbara Comstock and Jay Sekulow work to keep the camera at bay, but they fail to protect their wooden candidate from looking like an awkward fanboy." Also check out Russell Arben Fox on Mike Huckabee.

Now that's the Romney I met once back when I was doing City Year Boston in 1995. He's kind of like an inverse Gore --- stiff and awkward in one-on-one situations, but not bad in front of a camera giving a speech.

Neither should really matter when it comes to electability, but unfortunately it does.

The video's not working on your site, but if you click on the blank space it takes you to the original youtube video. You just can't see it on your site.
At any rate, don't know much about your politics, or this Romney fellow. But James Dobson isn't such a bad person. He does get clumped with the fundamentalistic Christians, but he really is nothing like some of those other guys. Dobson is a lot more understanding, if you ask me. Some of the other guys aren't so much. Although, I must admit, I don't like judging people too much (and I don't mean to be judging them with these comments.)
