New BHTV

Yglesias. Drezner. It's talking about stuff on BloggingHeadsTV!

Yes! In retrospect, I feel like we spent a weirdly long amount of time talking about the weather, rather than weightier matters. We didn't even use it as a segue for discussing global warming or anything. But it's all brilliant. You can even hear some early efforts to talk about my book.

Did you ask Drezner if he got a $100,000 advance?

Let me be the 2^aleph0 person to gripe about this, but pretty fucking plz don't force people to download Real Player or WMP to watch BHTV!

Sorry to say, I don't agree that 'The Untitled Matthew Yglesias Foreign Policy Project' is a good name for a band. It's too long. It's probably too long even for a sketch comedy troupe.

Did you talk about the unprecedented detail and care of your book argument?

Did you talk about the unprecedented detail and care of your book argument?

No. We're trying to cut the first draft by about 15 percent, so the final product's level of detail is, as yet, undetermined. I have, however, been telling people that it's going to be the seventh greatest non-fiction book of all time.

"We're trying to cut the first draft by about 15 percent"

Cut articles and verbs in the middles of paragraphs. Folks will still be mostly able to follow the flow.

Seventh? That slots in between Plato's Republic and the Kama Sutra, right? Very impressive.

Matt, speaking of your book, I've been meaning to commend you for not... well, speaking about your book.

While certain "authors" prattle endlessly about their book before the first draft is even finished, you've been relatively mum wrt your own upcoming book.

Also, by keeping a low profile, you can be spared the indignity of seeing your book discounted by 34% eight months before it even hits the shelves. At this rate, Goldberg's book will be debuting in the remaindered bin. And what's up with the Dec. 26th release date? What the hell?

Am I the only one who watches the Drezner Bloggingheads and wonder "is this guy really a Republican?" I mean, I like the guy and all (at least by Republican standards), but it seems like he only argues with Matt and others on the peripheries of issues rather than the core. At times he sounds more like your average, younger, less-bitter "neoliberal" Democrats and doesn't seem really gung-ho into the whole culture war thing while not really being against multilateralism and international organizations. At times he almost sounds like Clinton sans the Southern whimsy and the BJ's. So what exactly is he doing still in the Republican party?

Only liberal fascists like Christmas. Just ask proud liberal fascists Hilary Clinton and Benito Mussolini.

You seem more manic and herky-jerky in this particular vlog than usual. Sorta like Tarantino.
