The beach of Meia Praia is one of the Algarve’s best known and most visited beaches. It is on one of the largest bays in all of Europe and as a result the waters are calm and fairly rock free. The soft white sand lures many to this beach, and with a length of six miles there is room aplenty for all.

The Meia Praia is located just outside of the historic and beautifully quaint city of Lagos, and the residential area adjacent to the beach is a popular location in which to purchase property due to its proximity to both the city and the beach.

Property in Meia Praia varies from privately owned apartments to villas. Some of the villas are truly stunning works of architectural art, many of which have their own private pools and boasting such features as roof-top terraces, heated flooring, Italian marble and more. The apartments are equally luxurious with a variety of finishes and high-end touches.

Meia Praia property is well suited to the avid golfer. The Plamares golf course is a short five minute drive and offers stunning views of the ocean. The course at Penina is a championship course and is only fifteen minutes by car as is the course at Morgado. Within a 45 minute drive there are many, many more courses available.

Of course one of the main attractions to living in Meia Praia is the nearby beach, but there are a variety of other beaches nearby including the Praia Dona Ana that is arguably one of the most famous beaches in the entire Algarve region. This beach is just a short walk away, but many other beaches are only a short drive from the residential area of Meia Praia.

The beach of Meia Praia is lined with cafйs, restaurants and bars but other amenities such as shopping, supermarkets, the marina at Lagos, as well as nightlife venues are located in Lagos and are only a short drive from the beach.

Property in Meia Praia is popular for investment purposes, and many of these villas and apartments are privately owned yet used primarily for self-catering holidays. These types of homes are continually sought after as vacationers are looking to stay and play near the beach without having to stay in a resort. This popularity makes purchasing in Meia Praia an attractive option.
