Mexico’s climate varies according to the different regions of the country. Certain conditions such as elevation, location, and terrain influence the weather in each area. The Central Plateau area has a higher elevation than some areas in Mexico. Throughout most of the year, the climate there is pleasant and comfortable. The winters are typically mild and dry while the summers are typically warm and dry. The Southern Baja California area provides over 350 days of glorious sunshine throughout the year. The winter evenings are typically cool while the summer months are typically very warm to hot. Sea breezes and low humidity provide comfortable conditions. The Gulf Coast area often features warm temperatures and humid conditions. September often brings rainy weather and cool northerly winds that last until February. The Northwest Coast has winters that are typically mild and dry and summers that are typically warm and dry. However, rainy weather and even stormy weather do occur. The West Coast area, also known as the Mexican Riviera, has delightfully tropical weather throughout the year. Days are typically warm and dry except for the months between June and October when the weather turns rainy.
